Our superfood bars are a source of protein and fibre and bursting with vitamins and minerals. Usually you’d have to choose between a fruit-based bar and a protein bar. We’ve combined the two! Ideal as a nourishing breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up.

Our Vegan Superfood Bars contain no whey, egg, dairy, lactose, soy, wheat, oats, palm oil, vegetable oil, refined sugar, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. We use only the freshest natural ingredients in all of our food.

FAQs for Vegan Superfood Bars:

Q. Where does the sugar content come from?
A. Mostly from fruit – our bars contain between 28% to 43% fresh fruit (depending on flavour) and 20% dried fruit. All fruit contains natural fructose and have a low to medium glycemic index. Despite its fructose content, fruit when eaten as whole fruit (not fruit juice) is still classed as a healthy food because its sugar is paired with fibre. We use fresh and dried whole fruit (not just the juice) so our bars contain plenty of fibre too, which aids digestion of the fructose so that it is processed slowly by the liver, rather than just releasing it all into the bloodstream at once. Eating whole fruit doesn’t cause a spike in blood sugar like fruit juice alone does.

We also use small amounts (1ml per bar) of natural, low GI agave nectar (GI score of 10) in our Cherry & Cacao bars, and low GI pure 100% maple syrup (GI score of 54) in our Banana & Chia and Apple Cinnamon & Maca bars. No cane sugar and no weird fake ingredients like sucralose, aspartamine or saccharin like you find in so many processed protein bars – we only use natural plant-based ingredients in ours.

Q. Where does the protein come from?
A. We use pea protein or rice protein, depending on bar flavour, for their pure plant-based source of protein and excellent amino acid profiles. Along with nut butter – peanut or almond depending on bar flavour – this combines to pack a serious natural protein punch! The sunflower seeds in our Apple Cinnamon & Maca and Banana & Chia bars also boost the levels of protein. We use absolutely no whey or artificial protein powders.

Q. How do you know the nutrition of each bar?
A. Nutrition has been tested by Zero2Five Food Technology Centre using Nutrimen software. The Apple Cinnamon & Maca Superfood Bars and the Beef-Style Seitan Bites have been verified in laboratory testing by a Public Analyst.

Q. Are they gluten free?
A. The Apple bars have been confirmed as gluten free in laboratory testing by a Public Analyst. The other bars are made in exactly the same way, however they have not been laboratory tested yet. None of the bars contain any wheat or gluten-containing ingredients. All of the bars are made in the same kitchen as our Seitan Bites, which contain gluten, but on separate days, with separate utensils and equipment, and with a full clean in between to minimise cross contamination of allergens.

A. Yes. Each Banana & Chia Superfood Bar counts as one of your five a day thanks to a combination of fresh and dried fruit.

Q. Are they vegan?
A. Yes 100% vegan. Completely made from plants! No animal products whatsoever.

Q. Are they natural?
A. Yes, made with only natural ingredients. Fresh fruit, no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. We use organic ingredients when possible.

Q. Where/how are they made?
By hand with lots of care, in small batches in our kitchen near Llantrisant, South Wales.

Q. Do you use locally-sourced ingredients?
A. Yes, where possible we buy our ingredients from local markets and independent shops. Our fruit is bought fresh from our local market.

Q. Ready to eat?
A. Yes! No preparation required at all. Although in winter we have found they are particularly nice warmed up for 30 seconds!

Q. Are they suitable for diabetics?
A. We have carefully researched our ingredients, however we are not medical experts so please consult your doctor for advice.

Q. How long do they keep? How to store?
A. The bars keep for up to 7 days when stored in a cool, dark, dry place, such as in an airtight container in a cupboard. They do not need to be refrigerated, however they keep well chilled and will last for up to 2 weeks if so. They can also be frozen – if freezing please defrost thoroughly before eating and do not refreeze.
