1. We love animals! So we create delicious food that doesn’t hurt an animal in the process.
2. High protein intake is so important for gaining muscle or losing weight, so we also want to make it as easy as possible for fitness-conscious folks to gain their daily protein from non-animal sources. Our seitan and bars are packed with plant protein.
3. No additives! We want our food to be clean and natural, with no MSG, maltodextrin, artificial flavours, preservatives, colours, refined sugar or palm oil.
Our philosophy is “kind to animals, kind to your body, kind to the planet”.
Kind Protein was born from a passion for making healthy, nourishing vegan food. Founded by Hannah, with a background in zoological science, and David, with a background in web development, we were new to the world of food. We knew that we wanted to make vegan food that encompassed all of the features we find most important in our food choices — that is, ethical, natural, locally sourced, nutrient-dense, and delicious. Our USP was to be healthy vegan food that was rich in protein. So after much preparation, paperwork and kitchen experimentation we launched Kind Protein in May 2018.
So far this year we have been selling our food at local markets and food fairs, and it is heartening to meet so many people interested in vegan food! Some customers buy from our range because of the protein content, some because it’s vegan, and some because of the healthy ingredients — we value every one of you! It is a great feeling to have so much positive feedback from our customers about our products. We are very thankful for all the support, and will continue to innovate and grow the business that we are so passionate about.
